Demonstration projects
The CCLME project includes multi-country demonstration actions to test ways of addressing the declining fisheries in the Canary Current large marine ecosystem.
A rigorous selection process has resulted in the choice of five demonstration projects to be implemented by the CCLME project, participating countries and partners.
Projects implemented under Component 2: Marine living resources
- Sustainable transboundary management of shared small pelagic stocks in North West Africa consistent with an ecosystem approach
- Reduction of the impact of coastal shrimp trawling through by-catch reduction and management changes
- Transboundary co-management of migratory coastal species of importance to artisanal fisheries (mullets, bluefish and meagre)
Project implemented under Component 3: Biodiversity, habitat and water quality
