CCLME Sixth Project Steering Committee meeting, 2-3 February 2016, Dakar, Senegal

The sixth CCLME Project Steering Committee meeting, was held at the Radisson Blu hotel in Dakar from 2 to 3 February 2016. Forty participants from the Member countries of the project (Cabo Verde, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal), FAO, the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Secretariat of the Abidjan Convention, and partner institutions such as the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), the Regional Partnership for Coastal and Marine conservation in western Africa (PRCM), Wetlands International Africa and the Sub-Regional Fisheries Commission (SRFC) took part in this meeting. It was an opportunity to give an overview of the activities undertaken in 2015, and submit the 2016 work plan.

The opening ceremony was chaired by the Secretary-General of the Minister of Fisheries and the Marine Economy of Senegal. This event was covered by the local press including Zoom infos and Sud Quotidien in their newspapers published on 3 February 2016 and Walf Quotidien on 4 February 2016
